About Tommy C. Liu
I have always believed I could flip the world through my own work — that is where the name of this wiki comes from. For most of my career that meant building things by hand: firmware, boards and products, one line of code at a time.
AI changed that. It carried me past limits I could not step over on my own, and gave me courage, knowledge and speed I never had before. It also brings a new kind of uncertainty: the results are not always what you expect, so judgment matters more than ever.
It even turned me into a craft beer enthusiast. With AI as my brewing partner, I found the courage to brew my own hazy IPAs and learned the chemistry behind them — yeast, hops, water and pH. Eleven batches in under a year, every one logged, measured and learned from (see Homebrewing).
My role has shifted from creator and maintainer to supervisor — deciding what to build, setting the direction, and reviewing what comes back. That is leadership, and anyone who works with AI is already doing it. AI has not taken our skills away; it has promoted us. I call it the AI promotion.
So the question I ask myself now is: where do I want to go next?
How about you — have you been promoted yet?
